Hello!

I am buying new programmer, especially for flash (I currently have UPA-USB original and XProg-M clone).

I have a chance of getting very cheap Batronix BX40. However, this programmer only has 40pin, so I will have to buy 44 PSOP to 40 DIL adapter, which isn't very cheap.

So far, so good. My question is - are there other packages in automotive applications, that require more than 40 pins for programming (like SOIC, PLCC, QFP ... with >40 pins for programming)? I don't want to spend a fortune for special adapters, if I can buy programmer with 48pins and then 1:1 adapters.

Thanks!

Well I mentioned that. Flash ICs come usually in PSOP packages (and PLCC). If PSOP44 to DIL40 is the only adapter where conversion isn't 1:1, everything is ok. Are there other packages present in automotive applications, like PLCC or QFP with over 40 pins?
