E46 navi mk3 problem

My navi dosent work,

it says: Software loading required! please insert a suitable cd-rom.

Okay, i burn new software (32), but it will not update and today when i started the car the screen is normal but the navi funktions are gone. Can't even communicate with the navi with Inpa.

What can i do ??

HI,

which firmware version have you installed?
Was the cd rom burned to iso1?
Then the iso1 format is important for the MKIII, the MKIV can read iso2 format...

Tried to install version 32. As i now it has to be mode2 for mkIII.
The red led dos not power on.

Check connection with modules - plugs in baggage compartment.Last software version for MK3 is 63 and same from firmware CD v22 .

Ok, I am sorry, you are right, it is mode 2.
If the car is powered off, try to press the eject button - does the flash red?

I've been there m8... here is how you gonna bring it back to life!

- remove navi unit from car, unplug connector and antena, and those screws holding it.
- open it, you'll need to manual remove cd from inside unit (maybe is good to have somebody to help you, i did it my self)
(process is lsomething like taking old vhs cassettes from video recorder)
(some ppl say you need to keep eject long time to eject cd, but it didn't work for me)
- when you do this burn new cd (cd, NO dvd!) with freeisoburner or other with option mode2form1!!! = A MUST!
- reverse operation, put this new cd into navi, by hand put cd back inside.
- go to car, and plug connector back in
- turn off lights and power consumers if any
- open driver doors and look while your navi updates ...

I have removed the cd and tried with af new cd. I can hear the unit try to read and then it stop and start reading again and then stops. The red led does not light up.
Maybe the software is corrupt.

put in navi and try again. Use ImgBurn to make cd.


The loop you are getting:
bzzz-bzzz........bzzz-bzzzz
is 'cos navi is unable to read cd format.
Just need to burn cd correctly.

The first picture shows the screen when i turn ignition on.
Second picture shows the screen after a few minuts.
Last picture shows that it can't spell any more.

Tried both version 22,1 and 31.

I could be wrong but it sounds like it took your update but perhaps you have a bad Key CD. Give this one a try:
