nano sound help

Hi folks. I found my ipod nano that i lost about a year ago. I turned it on and started a song and the voice on the song wasnt coming out and the instruments were a bit tangy and quiet. I tried different songs and it was still the same but even when i did hear a voice in the song itbwas a tangy whisper.
Any help?
