Hi just wondered if anyone knows where i can find the build code for peugeot 406 2.2 hdi 51 reg, i have looked on the front susspension tops for the number but can't find no number. When i start peugeot planet it asks for build code i have tried typing different numbers in but planet says wrong car selected, there is a sticker on the drivers door post with numbers on but these dont work either, i have tried last 4 and 5 digets of the vin still no good. Hoping someone knows where the build code numbers are. thanks. :banghead:

not sure ?
but i think ( very vaguely )there is a converter sort of algo thing can convert the vin but
cant remember where i heard that ?
but 99999 will work if you arnt doing a programing procedure
but if you are programing i think it needs the BC to do it
simple code read live data can be done the 99999 way mate
and also theres a thread about tricks and tips with pp2000 if you search

The number requested by pp2000 construction is also called DAM, it is very important because it indicates precisely the type of electronics in the car.
The number of DAM can be found or the sticker on the left door pillar, where there is paint code indicated tire pressure etc ... DAM is the first series of numbers written in bold only the first 4 zero before does not count, ex:
the number is 0895623, DAM is 8956 (this number is added to PP2000). if no number plates are painted on upright damper front left (in yellow). Sometimes with 406 you can have problems with the diagnosis and recognition ECU should try to change vehicle with 406 pre-or post restyling or coup?.
If help you remember to push the button thanks !!!
