2 play games on external hard drive have 2 be less than 5 gig how is this when ps3 games r at least 8 gig . i have downloaded ps3 games been ripped using jailbreak all r least 8 gig so how do u play them ???????

Where exactly did you hear that?

I think what you mean is, since external HDD on PS3 have to be formatted to FAT32, the FILE SIZE limit is 4GB.

That means that the game can be as big as you like, as long as no individual file is over 4GB.

I have backed up all my games to external HD and so far all have worked great. I have a 1TB Seagate external.

For games which do have files over 4GB, you can transfer them to the PS3 internal HDD which is not FAT32 and can handle files larger than 4GB.

Because currently the ps3 backup manager only reads external drives that are fat32. Hopefully the next version of backup manager will have overcome this and allow NTFS.
