Hi guys,

I have this airbag ECU from Alfa Romeo Spider 1996 and I cannot communicate with it.

I'm using this pinout but it's not responding:

9- K line
14- earth
15- +12v

Is the above correct?

Any ideas about what could be wrong? What components should I check?

Thanks for sharing that!

I got "Crash data present" and "Pretensioner burst". I could not clear the faults, so does it mean my ECU needs a reset? The car did not crash.

Crash data cannot be reset with this SW. Only error codes.
You need to reprogram the memory by soldering a few wires on the microcontroller.

You need to run the trw2scan from a DOS window:

Click start and then type cmd.exe and enter.
Navigate to the correct folder (type CD.. to go up one level and type CD name_of_foler to go inside a folder)

When you get to the trw2scan folder, run trw2scan by typing trw2scan trw2.obd

Hi brchip. Now software works. Thank you. I put wire to ecu but soft gives me error "ECU response time out". Consumption of airbag is 0,02A. is Pinout correct?

I think it's not correct. It should be more, around 0,150.

PINOUT:

1 and 2 driver airbag (use resistor)
3 and 4 passenger airbag (use resistor)
6 and 7 passenger pretensioer (use resistor)
9 Kline (connect to pin 7 of the diagnostic interface - I use VAG FTDI)
10 and 11 driver pretensioner (use resistor)
13 fault light (use a small 12v lamp) and connect the other side of lamp to +12v
14 earth
15 ignition (+12v)
