Hi, I am trying to figure out how to adjust idle speed on my Volvo(i want to increase it)-can it be done mechanically or only by diagnostic?

no its not possible to to it either mechanic way or by diagnostic - you need chiptuning equipment read out EPROM and then you have to programm idle speed!
I think there will be no different solution

tnx for reply... can you tell me which chiptuning tool is needed for that, because chiptuning services are not common here, and I want to check if they have that tool before going there, because nearest is 200 km away?

have you tried cleaning and resetting memory? I clean with a old tooth brush. Have someone step on pedal key on engine off and use SEA FOAM cleaner it wont disolve teflon coated throttle bodies.
