Hi , i have a problem with asta h 2005, all was well ,the car went for a clutch and flywheel change , also alternator..

when the car has come back from the garage the reading on the odometer counts up too fast , even when stationatry the car clocks up miles when you rock the steering back and forth..

strange problem the people who fitted clutch can not work it out..

any ideas as to what can be the problem?

thanks.

have you checked abs sensors in live data using opcom?

take a look at the vehicle speed sensor which is mounted on the gearbox. maybe nicked wires/ damaged senor during installation. Check live data readings for related sensors as recommended by Z786

Hi

Could you please explain what was the fault with brake lamp, was it wrong bulb fitted or, wiring fault ?

And also which side was that causing this fault to mileage clock going up fast on its own.

Thanks

Ash

after having no luck i suggested he took it back to the garage where the work was done on the car and have a look at the wiring as suggested.....

customer took it to another garage where he tried reading with
his diagnostic machine and didnt find much......

only by chance customer says he was reversing the car in the garage and the tech noticed fault on brake lamp,

dont know exactly if it was bulb out or sometimes when you press brake and indicator comes on......

anyway new bulb was put in and all was ok......

Hi

Thanks for the explanation, that means a faulty bulb or poor earth connection caused this fault.

Good to know for future ref.

Thanks
