hi, have been using my ds lite with an r4 gold card for several months now. no problems until i turned it on yesterday and it came up with and error message which reads: system date error! please check NDS system date
can someone please explain to me what this means and why after all these months it would suddenly say this....and also if there is a way to rectify the problem as i am totally lost without my DS.......

yes m8,
it means that you are using old firmware on your card.
two options to sort it.
option one:
the difficult, but correct fix.
find the correct up to date firmware and update card.
finding correct firmware for r4 cards can be a pain in the a**e.
but some newer games may not work on your card with current firmware.
option 2:
the simple fix.
put your time and date settings back a year or so....
and yes its really that simple :)

thank you so much, I used option2 and am back up and running again.......i don't have too many of the newer games so figured option 2 would be the easiest for me as i really have no idea about any of the tech stuff infact i am really tech inapt LOL, looking forward to calling my son and bragging to him that i fixed a problem without bothering him......thank you so much for your help:champions:
