Caterpillar Communication Adapter 3

Friends, I bought an adapter CAT 3 original, but instead of sending me the Data Link Cable 317-8981 with connection to the adapter type female, sent me the 332-7382 that has connection to the adapter type male. Thus need to know if I put a DB15 Female Female adapter, it will work without problems. Someone can tell me? We also need to know the correct code for the Data Link Cable.

The original 317-7484 CA3 Group contain the following parts:
1. 317-7485 (CA3) Module
2. 327-8991 (Data Link Cable) CA3 to Service Connector
3. 317-7487 (USB PC Cable) Laptop USB to CA3

If you have adapter that will fit with the connector, I guess there should be no problem with that.
