hi i have a s type jaguar 2004, i need a spare key, what is the cheapest way? a basic key will do, there is some on ebay that are 49.99 and they say it can be programed by without the equipment is this true? :hmmmm2:

it sounds to easy. If that was the case car burglars would be stealing S-Types all over the place. Generally the Transponder needs to be programmed by specialised equipment but the remote locking part is just a manual procedure, varies from car to car though.

Worth talking to a specialist auto locksmith. The good ones now have immobiliser chip readers and can make clones of your original. Much cheaper and faster than reading codes from immo boxes and then programming multiple keys to the car.

Its a hard work, but you need to make virgin the ecu and Inmo box( is same box like central lock ecu ).
