Hi guys,

I have a pretty old computer at my home. I would like to upgrade the video card, processor and memory. I am looking for the best AGP card, a core2duo processor with 800 fsb and 1 giga DDR1 Kingmax memory. If somebody has those parts for sale, please post.

Best regards,

Sirus

Does your Motherboard support them components... a Core 2 duo with DDR1 sounds weird... should be DDR2

A Radeon 4650 I think is the best AGP card you can get

My motherboard support core2duo with 800/1066 FSB and its also has AGP slot and DDR1.
ASRock > Products > ConRoe865PE (http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=ConRoe865PE)

I'm pretty satisfied with it. I don't want to throw out the window because it is pretty stable and my favorite games runs well on it. Right now I have PentiumD805, Nvidia 7600GS, 1 giga DDR1. Would we useful to find a better processor for a small amount of money.
The radeon 4650 its not the best video card as far as I know. The 3850 its better cause its have 256 memory bus speed.

You're right, the 3800 series would be faster but I was thinking of the more modern card... Saying that, there is a 3870 AGP card version, that would be faster again than a 3850

But you have to remember a very fast card may cause a bottleneck... especially with old DDR1 ram

Also that motherboard- I had the older revision of that board a few years ago and the ram was a bit weird in it because it only supported more than 1gb of ram if you used pc2700 333mhz ddr1, and only up to 1gb of pc3200 400 ddr1 ram..... so if you're thinking of putting more ram into it check the manual because if you've already got 2 512 sticks of pc3200 ram in it and you're adding another 2 512 pc3200 sticks then it may not work.. because you need all your ram to be pc2700 ram for more than 1 gb

ATI (AMD) have been winning the GPU war for a while, but dont rule out Nvidia cards, they are very good indeed, i usually only use Nvidia chipsets with a Pentium chip, just personal preferance
