Hello all,
I have a gt1 clone head that I have been using with vmware
version of the software. I recently received a native install hdd for my t42. When in gt1 I can see the head when setting up connection. The bars up top are at full strength.
It list the head as C0026 192.168.68.1 however when I hit the connecting button it will drop the bars up top. The heads orange light stays on solid and it is listed next to the wred connections in the connection screen. I did test it in SSS and it connects no problem. It works fine with my VMware install too. Any help would be much appreciated. If somebody could tell me what the system ip info should be as well Thanks All.

Is it possible that the computer that the image was built on had a different network adapter? The HDD also has Star/Xentry installed and the license keys are not working. Probably due to different hardware, correct? Any way to reconfigure an already installed DIS?

If I recall correctly the GT1(DIS) uses 192.168.68.1 as its default address... So if your diag head has the same address as the DIS machine it will fail upon trying to connect.
Try changing the IP on the diag head or change the ip in your DIS setup...

Thanks for the reply. I have hooked the head to SSS and since the IP has been changed to 192.168.68.31. No settings seem to matter. I believe that it's the network adapter driver that is installed. I do not have the root password to log into scoadmin.

You need to get root access, check the routing table etc... on the DIS computer

Chinese tech support offered no response about getting the root password. I was able to hack it though. Here's what I found.
To change the root password.
Download and burn the following to cd
http://ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/5...Jun05_1800.iso (http://ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/507/iso/OpenServer-5.0.7-July2005/OpenServer-5.0.7Hw-10Jun05_1800.iso)
Once you booted from SCO 5.0.7 Installation CD and switched to 3rd console (When you see the keyboard selection menu, press [Alt][F3]) when you see prompt <Installation> do following:
1. chroot /hdFS /bin/sh
that should switch you to the GT1 filesystem root
2. su -
that should set proper uid of your current shell
3. passwd
that will ask you to pick the password
That's it. After that you can just go back to install screen and say "Cancel" and installation will halt.
Root password has changed. I will now attempt to correct this mess.

Ok, I had a look around and I'm lost. What should I check?

Ping the head unit from SCO, ping SCO from the host computer, make sure they can all communicate w/ each other. Look at the server logs, perhaps its an installation issue.

I found adapters installed that were what I believe for using a usb key to lock out the install. It was a usb lan adapter. I removed unnecessary hardware, checked ip address, and reinstalled Dis v57. I was having a lot of problems installing v57 until I removed some ram. Then it loaded like a charm.
So I have DIS, and SSS working. Now to fix the Das install which is requiring a usb key.

Hi- I am having the same problem with connecting a T30 to my DK head
I have tried changing ip etc but that has not worked.
The last time this happened, I had an older version of DIS/SSS on a hard drive so I just swapped them over. That fixed it.
I have a copy of DIS V57.iso but have no idea how to install this on a T30. I'm hoping an upgrade will solve the problem.
Connecting via SSS/Progman works no problem, its just when using DIS.
Anyone any advice/tutorial on how to install DIS V57 on a T30?
Thanks in advance
