Can I read this eeprom with tacho. I removed the eeprom from the dash, I'm using baord #40 35/95xxx. I'm using Fiat panda from the menu as it has 95080 chip. The car that I have is 2008 GMC sierra 3500HD. I just wanted to read and save with the tacho.

Check your board, mine was bad, had to run some wires on the back of it.

How would I check it ?

Look at the schematic and see if you got continuity between pins on the socket and on the board. Mine did not have continuity in two instances.

ok I found one broken wire at the connection to the clip, inside the heat shrink. Fixed it, read the chip. Will look into it now, looks better now .

Ok I figured it out, first time when I edited the dump I used Xprogdesktop. loaded the new file to eeprom, showed 702,xxx miles. But I did not like something about that from the beginning . I looked at the dumps and compared , took the vigin dump and edited it again in tachodump. Saved , loaded, ok. I must say I'm very happy about this success. This was my first time dealing with eeprom, soldering , de-soldering etc. Thanks for support M8.

Hi can you guide me what program did you use to read and write back to EEPROM. I'm very knew here and doing this first time ever. Mine EEPROM 95080W4 (8 pin chip) is from 2007 BMW 328i Convertible (E93) roll over controller module. I have researched quite a bit about CARPROG, XPROG software and hardware both however I'm very puzzeled what adapters I need, what OS I need if I need to go back to XP or Windows 10 would work. The more I research, the more I'm getting confused. Based on your post seems like you used tachodump - please and please guide me about software and hardware needed to make it work.
