Sensor for left side air bag

I just scan 1997 BMW E39
and found :
Sensor for left side air bag
thats what DIS says
air bag light on dash board is on
I cant clear error is still there
tryed with inpa and dis still code is there
any idea is thats the sensor under driver seat is foulty?
please help

give as the faulty code number.
you must look schematics for airbag wiring and
check wiring from airbag to airbag ecu.

18 and 32
18 i cleared
32 stays

it looks like bad connections at that sensor from left side airbag.
check wires and connectors for poor contact and try again.

yes , somewhere there ... just check around for yellow or orange connectors . For seatbelts connectors are black.

If I change this sensor do I have to do some coding?
or it will work as soon as I plug it in?

Yes , you mast reset all faults - if not , you will have airbag light on
