Hello all,

I bought a Vag tacho V3.01 to my A3 8L 2003 with a dash M73 which is on the list of covered dash on the seller's listing:

Audi A3, A4, A6, TT, New Beetle Magneti Marelli M73 (1998-2003 year) read PIN code / change mileage

but it does not work!

I followed the procedure to the letter and to no avail, he happened to read the dash of KM but not change it.

I enclose what I posted,

hello,

I understand I must roll over, 80 and 90km, after I disconnect the battery and I have the new KM?

or I have to again change the KM after driving 90km?

you did it with what tool?

Here is my dash ref: KOMBI + WEGFAHRS. M73 D05

Thank you for your help

what year is your A3? 8L is the model?
it has a dash M73? Can you tell me the complete ref dash?
you do this with Vag tacho V3.01?
you can save the file dash, before changing the KM?
me neither, I think it's a bit risky in case I miss something, there is no way to recover the original file. you can just edit.

I still do a test today, it works yet :hmmmm2:

with your Vagtacho, you managed to read the eeprom? when I try to read it, he said must first read PIN code, I do it and nothing happens!

with your super vag, you've managed to change km into the dash Magneti Marelli?
it is also the memory KM, the ECU?

a picture of your tool (super vag) if possible.

Thank you

with my vag tacho i read the eeprom .. did not need to read pin in that car..

I did not try this car with super vag .. but tried other cars.. you can add key .. read pin.. change milage.. i paid about 150 $ for it .. and in my opinion it was worth the money..

this one i use.. of course it dont work on all cars... but for that money i am happy..

Hi Pablo1971,

Forget the Vagtacho, it's shit.

No, I still have not found a tool to do my dash M73 by OBD, I'm still looking.

There is a programmer who can do it, but must remove the dash and joining son on. I keep this solution in the end, if I can not find a tool that can do so by OBD.

in this case, should I drop my research tool for OBD!:(

I still have more than : 912/9S12/9S12X Programmer v1.54.
the list of covered cars, there A3 Magnetti Marelli 2004?
up to 2004??
OR

I just got the info, this programmer 912/9S12/9S12X Programmer v1.54, works on the A3 from 2004 (8P)

Final conclusion: it is not possible to change the mileage on a kombi M73 on A3 2003 (8L).

If you have a track, I'm interested ;)

To VAGTacho v3.01 earned you need to resolder the resistor backup K-Line on 680Om
