Buy a ROSFAR R250 clone, Smelecom one works 100% not sure of others though.

its verry old way to change the milage by soldering, and not safe! This job can do R250(or clone), Xprog-m(clones damaging sometimes).
There are OBD softs on carprog, vagprog, dp3, enigma....its safe and quick way.

what are you thinking about this

you can read but must modify eeprom manualy to work without key
read and save original dump
erase dump block 0x810 0x91f now you will see def on display but key not required
load original dump and write it via diag to dash now
when original restored use read immp to get pin :bounce:

External 24c32 memory, you can write just dump from another dash.

you probably have non paired key in ignition while trying to make anything thats why you get the errors. There are some versions that CAN be done even if immo active, and there are some where is no way to make anything via OBD while false key in ignition. Tried with XCAN, and digiprog3 and Super Vag 2.0

when working on madeable version all 3 are working, same when trying on version that can not be done

Read original, write from another dash, press change km, put any value, wait until it will be flashed then use write eeprom button and write orignal content. From this point you have full access to dash.
