Yes its a simple repair.

If that doesnt work for you the only thing i can suggest is buy a new 1. The faulty dongle has been discused many times on this forum. If you use the search you will find a suplier to get 1 that works.

If it is reading the km. Then it may be working ok. What car are you trying to program. Check and recheck all the connections

the car have 75000 and say 522240

I have the tach manual. But you may be reading the wrong 1 thats all i was asking. Its not uncommon for the manuals to show differnt things but hey only trying to help.

you use a bad menu to read that car.
because that the kms are bad

Check the voltage on your power suply,and resolder the dongle.It may work

I had same problems a few years ago and sorted out by following the same instructions of swapping the resistors (make sure you check the resistance on each and that they are the correct value as described in picture) also i have noticed that in the picture there is a capacitor missing from position "C4" in the picture this might be your problem if the resistors are corrected. i have 4 of these and 2 i have repaired are the ones with the C4 capacitor and work perfect.
PS when working it can take about 30 seconds to read so please wait.

I have a similar problem with the BMW LCM. It reads a much higher value.

Resistor values are correct, but C4 is missing. Is C4 required? Which type of capacitor should be used?

After resoldering all components it shows now a much lower value :)

Hello guys,

can anybody please explain how to fix the dongle to make it work.

Mine is also not working and has the following details on board:
R2 = 10kOhm (the smd resistor is labeled with 103)
R1 = 660Ohm (the smd resistor is labeled with 681)
C4 = 50V/10uF capacitor
C4/1 = 47 16V

What is written on the R1, R2, C4, C4/1 parts of your working 912 Dongle?


Need (hopefully mine) working tool really fast... Thank you for your help

I've read all topics which where diskussed in past here on DK. Topics are to old so that all uploaded pics are down and not really helpfull...

I've changed resistor R1 to 561 and R1 is still 103.

Dongle does still not work.
Is C4 50V/10uF right?
Is C4/1 47u/16V right?

Does nobody have a working 912 dongle anymore????

soldering of chinese dongle is bad, resolder amtel.

Resolder Atmel, now its good.

Dongle does still not work.
