Hi again all,i've never done any eeprom programming, but it looks so tricky.....remove immo, desolder chip, read chip, resolder chip, reinstall immo!....i take it all this DOESN'T have to be done if the customer gets the pin code from Fiat?...Fot a fiat punto 2003,if the customer gets the pin,all i need to do is program it as normal using a crypto 48 chip and my sbb?....is there something i'm missing???

Hi,
Fiat give you the pin code, but you need to pay. To program a new key id:48 on Fiat you need to precode the transponder. You have 2 options:
1) You buy the key to Fiat indicate the VIN (and the key is precoded to your car and only to your car) or
2) You precode the transponder by dump the ECU. In some equipment the transponder is produced to start the engine. So you dont need to program the key with sbb or other equipment.

Thanks Guys....Is it only Fiat cars which require precoding?...How can you tell which cars need precoded chips or not?

Lots of cars need pre coded chips now and is becoming the norm. Its only time and experiance that you find out, I suggest doing a lot of reading and a lot of solder practice you WILL need it.:)

Hi,
For now you need precoded transponders for:
id:48 and id:46 for Fiat, Lancia and Alfa Romeu
id: 48CAN for Audi
id: 48CAN for Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen from 2008 until today
Note: in some models Citroen and Peugeot use the Fiat system, then you need to precode the transponder.
