to all owners of computers please remember the above european law .
in a nut shell you have a longer warranty than just 1 year on your products .

example . i brought a hewlett packard laptop zd7000 a few years ago . paid 2000 euros . 6 months over the warranty the monitor failed . told by a computer store it would cost approx 600 euro to repair .
i researched the problem on the net and found just by chance a law company in america that was taken a law suit against hewlett packard in ref the model computer that i had . in a nut shell hewlett packard knew of the problem all along and were given people the run around . i went to the local small claims court , paid 15 euro fee and got my 2000 euro back .
Sales reps can try to pull the wool over your eyes but be aware of your rights .
