Hello Jctech.....

I followed your instructions except for #4: Replace: \ Program Files \ Power Generation \ Shared \ Data \ Inp_pf.bin with downloaded file. I don't have a download of file "Inp_pf.bin". Where can I get/see this file?

I saw the original file but don't have the file to replace it.

Inpower seems to be okay now even if instruction #4 was not performed. I might have the chance to use it soon.

Please advise........and thank you again......

thanks for the forum, i worked with QSX15G8. the local distributor doesn't allow us to have the Inpower software and the connection cable as it can void the warranty.

now i can get the Inpower software but i found difficult to get the connector cable. do anyone know how to get it? or the part number for the cable?

You need cable part number 3163156 to connect to the GCS controler, it connects directly to the engine from the PC, no inline adapter!!. If you buy one from other than Cummins, make sure that it is the newest version, after 2003. The original version of the cable, (for the original QST30 with a single ECM mounted at the rear of the V, pre 2003), was missing a resistor required for communication with the GCS controller.
For PCC 3200 controller and later you need cable part number 3163768
For PCC 1300/1301 you need cable part number 0338-4590

The lates QSX15 CPG gensets use a Cummins CM570 ECM on the engine, these use Insite for calibrating the engine ECM and InPower for the genset controls.
InPower can view engine parameters, faults etc, but Insite cannot view genset parameters or faults.

The QSX genset engine with Cummins CM570 ECM can be run with direct power to the ECM, and can be run with Deep Sea type panel, get the panel with J1939 control if you want to sync with the grid or another genset

CAN bus is J1939 in this instance, (strictly speaking they are two different protocols). You need a J1939 type of controller, Deep Sea make one, so do ComAp.
You will also need to replace every other controll that PCC does, AVR, Breaker control etc.

QSX genset with fueling cards in PCC3201
The PCC panel is responsible for all speed control, base 50/60 Hz and speed control for parralleling operations (synchronizing).

QSX genset with Engine mounted ECM, the ECM will run the engine at 50/60 Hz, but without fine speed control (set will be unstable and have poor load acceptance). PCC panel, or Deep Sea / ComAp controller (J1939) will supply a speed control for final speed governing for load acceptance and parralleling.

QSX genset with GCS controller, the ECM will govern the engine at 50/60 Hz with good load acceptance, an external controller is required for parralleling

i have this problem above exactly ,( the ECM run the engine at 50/60 Hz, but without fine speed control (set will be unstable and have poor load acceptance) So if you can supply me wiring or some thing to connect deep sea DSE6110 (only connection between DSE and ECM ) , but i think no place in deep sea to varying speed . after i can connect the AVR and Breaker control

The wiring for the controller will come from Deep Sea - ComAp or whoever, the J1939 connector is a 3 pin Deutsch (triangle) conector near the lift pump on the QSX15 engine. the ECM is already set up to listen for commands sent from the controller, the controller already has the commands for Cummins and Scania (and probably more by now) written in it, it auto detects the ECM and knows what engine it is.
All you have to do is supply the J1939 datalink, buy good quality CAN Bus cable to J1939 spec (not J1939 II), J1939II does not require the datalink to be shielded.
