hi i want to read the immo box
of mercedes vito with MC68HC05X16.
can i read it in circuit with upa usb
or i must desolder it.
which way is more safe for this?

Do not try with upa m8, i did last week and upa erases eprom, as its secured. Hope ive caught you in time before trying m8. Mine was on a 1999 sprinter.

xprog m is better , more convinience than etl universal prog , wich you have to soldier on board , and many select with jumpers
with adapter can read quicly got eprom file , modife , genarate......

I tried with xprog-m in circuit and target was "silent" will xprog-m by-pass the security m8, on the sprinter , vito qfp64? for future reference now.:eek:

original XPROG M on board board perfect for all HC05 , not ICP
if you no have adaptar (on pic ) , just make good fixation of MCU by soldering on xprogm HC05 adapter
for sprinter you have frequently 0J66D or 1l52H
better HC08 ETL work perfect ICP or onboard
on ICP take back reset pin , i prefere on OBP work 100 %

the one i had problems with was an 0D62J, MC68HC05X16, next time i will try with xprog-m, mcu removed. Thanks m8

obdmaster, have you got a picture of the points where the wires are soldered on the immo board please.i have one just like yours on a vito to do,also,i destroyed pads on leg 16 and 25(looking at the ic the plug is at the top,the dot bottom far left of the ic, going anti clock wise).would you kindly find where i can jump these 2 legs to!, much apreciated.
