Is it possible to use ipad as a monitor?

I plan to set up a setupbox in my car with dvd-t funcionallyty and and I would like to display it in the ipad. I'd like to use the ipad as rear camera monitor and dvd-t monitor, otherwise I will have to buy a specific monitor for the car.
