Hi,

I have IDSS and its great just got done a injector and even reprogrammed flow rates, awesome stuff, defiantly would have been a dealer job if I did not have the software!!!

several times when using it (wired with USB link) it lost communication, thankfully it did not do it when programming.

Anyone else have this issue?

I did just update it to the lastest update after I was done fixing my truck, it might have taken care of it, I'll know the next Isuzu that comes in.

Thanks

I got a 2007 Isuzu FTR in the shop. My guys tried to use the IDSS for the first time and they had no communication.
I have a USB-LINK.

Few questions. The FTR has an OBD2 plug. Is that the connector we need to use, or is there a 9 pin hiding somewhere?
If we use OBD2 what adaptor? They tried usieng a prolink OBD2 adaptor, but it had no communication.
Drivers and setting seem to be fine. This laptop has other programs including hino and as new drivers for USB-Link including Hino. In the adapter drop down box in IDSS it has USB-LINK and Bluetooth we did it wired and Usb-Link selected.

No if you are using the nexiq usb link you have to use the correct adapter. Part number 448013 I bought mine from apex tools it was 98 bucks. Just google that part number.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably end up making one. I made one (which i haven't tried on the IDSS) to use with TechStream. I use that all the time.

Can someone do a resistance test and see which pins go to which?

Can someone connect the numbers please?

I used this cable before and it worked out great, with a DB15 connector from frys (local electronics store, this radioshack has it too).

I'm not very lucky, but this doesn't happen to be the right pins does it?

Here is my techstream cable I made with the above pigtail and DB15.

If you dont feel like building one yourself or paying $120 for the nexiq cable, you can buy them for $50 from e-Store (http://www.pocketfleetdiagnosticsolutions.com/download.htm).

Thanks for the info. Is this a custom made or is the the wiring of the actual nexiq one?

You labeled the DB15 as front of connector. This doesn't mean wire side like you stated on the OBD2 right? The picture of the pins on the DB15 has the numbers going from left to right. That means the pic is of the Back of the connector or wire side, but you have it label other way around.

What you have as pin 8 on the DB15 should really be pin 1 which is the 12volt power. This will really make a diff. if you read the pin numbers off the connector.

Can you confirm the pin out. Resistance test on both sides?

This is a custom made cable. Have made a few and all worked with no issues. I just recheched conections and the DB15 pinouts are numbered correctly. The DB15 pins are numbered left to right when looking into the male connection end (not the wire end) of the connector. The obd2 male connector is shown looking at the back of it (where wires get soldered).

If you dont want to go through the trouble of making one yourself you can buy a very well made one from http://www.pocketfleetdiagnosticsolutions.com/download.htm for only $50.
