first gear

hi first gear sometimes hard to select especially from standing still to pull away can any one help please xtype jaguar 55 2,0 d sport thanks mial

standard gear box, I supppose? more info would help. does it happen only when engine/tranny is coldor always, is the oil level/specification o.k? clutch cylinders don't leak, fluid there? how many miles the tranny got etc.

shed some light, please.
