Trying to read 1D47J Chip with X Prog-m clone V4.5 and it wont read, it just keeps coming up "Device is Silent. Timeout Error". Can read 2D47J and OD46J but not this 1D47J. I am just using the HC11 adaptor board which you plug into the top of the programmer. Its just a 1D47J out of a 1996 318ti BMW Compact, Any ideas what could be wrong guys?

Mate, I had this same problem the other night. I got mine to read under 2D47J.
Maybe you have to enter the security bites first if you read it under 1D47J.
The first 4 keys in the dump were ok but ther last 4 were all ffffffffffffff. Not sure if it was the way I read it or they have been erased before I get the EWS.

Thanks for the info buddy, did you read it under '2D47J' or '2D47J with security' ? Is that the first time you had ever read the 1D47J with the X Prog-m? Its my first time on this chip. The thing that scares me with these little buggers is the fear of erasing the eeprom area, I hope to god it hasnt screwed it.

Yes it readable like '2D47J with security' but most of the time pin's of mcu must be cleaned very very well before you put on (1-002-0011 adapter), i have this problem all the time.

Tried reading the 1D47J through the '2D47J with security' option on the X Prog-m today. Worked a charm first time, dont understand how that makes any sense but it definitely does work so thanks a million guys
