Hey guys... I have a corrupt 8E0 920 950Hx D27 cluster. The car won't start due to corrupt immo and there is a DEF in the display. Can the dump be fixed? I tried to fix with Magic Dash Bosch Level which claims that the cluster can be recovered in certain circumstances..but no luck here.

Does anyone have a dump of the same cluster with D27 software?Any help greatly appreciated.

Bosch RB4 can't work others dash dump, if you test another dump on dash , it will be DEF forever

I figured that to be the case, but I know that others were able to fix with the same model and software version dump.

What have you changed in the dump, only the first two lines? VIN seems OK.

It seems that you lost 2 values only at 0x014 and 0x018 positions.
You can try to play with them.

I don't think that dash will be "Def" forever if you write the similar dump. Mask in CPU is not unique for every panel instrument, but for CPU.

Try dumps.

No luck with the above dump... Def and Error when uploaded... So ended up uploading the original "corrupt" and back to square one..DEF and 118727 miles.. corrupt immo. I tried playing around with the two corrupt/missing values but it seems that there are hundreds of possibilities and very slim chance of getting just right. I know that this cluster is a major PITA.

Anyone else have any other ideas? Formulas to calculate the missing values from the rest of the dump? I know dejavu can probably repair, but I just spend some major $ on MagicDashCAN with Bosch Level that claimed to repair dash, but no luck.. It seems that it should have repaired since the EEPROM is not that corrupt.

Anyone have a virgin dump for the cluster?

Thanks in advance for any help guys.

seems to have some "agreement" beetwin MCU and epp, when losted this agreemet, MCU does not acept any other dump

I think you are wrong. I have put manny times other dump in RB4 and when I restored with orig dump dash worked good.

correct. DEF forever is big bullshit.

Agreed. After trying several dumps resulting with DEF and Error I was able to put the original corrupt dump back into the cluster and return to previous status so forever DEF is not correct. I think its just a matter of coming across the right dump with correct mask or repair with another tool.

Has anyone used VagDashCAN to perform a similar repair? Any luck?

Complicated? Why - it's totally easy.
Drop me a line. I can remove DEF and DEF/Error by dump wihin seconds.
