1-Remove the old LCD with hot air.
2 - remove the rest of the board with a soldering copper grid.
3 - clean the card contacts with isopropyl alcohol
4 - Place the new LCD applying flux contacts
ready you'll have a perfect and faultless service.

so today i i replaced my first lcd display pn passat vdo cluster
i removed old lcd vith hot air
then i cleaned all pads on mainboard vith hot iron like vhen you remove an eprom and then you must smooth the pads for better connection
then i took new lct placed flat on main board so it vas all on main board pressed it down vith nife and hotted it vith hot air gun so it sticked a little bit, then i took a hot iron and ironed each pin on main board like ironing eprom or processor. checked for shorted pins.
and put all back together
and had great result
i hope it will help someone vith their first job......

Been looking at your link, but I don't understand by what they mean when saying: ''the driver SED1560TOB must be connected to the mother board, too.'' I only see the flat ribbon cable which I know has to be soldered.... Am I missing something?
