You may have a blown Q72 transistor..

or your tuner may have come unseated / faulty..
To be safe I'd try a reflash with a different Gemini before i opened up the box

It could just be the transistor, which is a quick solder.. A tuner is only ?10 less than a new box.. I'd be tempted to buy a new updated clone, D518s, if it was the tuner that had gone

I have exactly the same problem. However the strange thing is that when I took it to have it tested at the dealer it works fine. It doesn't seem to work when i connect at my home. The service searching option seems to be missing. I tested at home my other Sattelite receiver and that seems to be working normal.
I am suspecting perhaps the AC adapter is not supplying enough or the scart connection. I get also a thudding noise when I connect the dreambox. That doesnt happen with my other receiver.
Any ideas

It wont be anything to do with the SCART lead the lack of power could be a factor.. get a new power supply, you can pick them up quite cheap

i had the same problem yesterday with a new box i changed the image to gp 420 and it didnt work . but i turned the box on next day to try again and it came up ok without me changing anything i think some boxes are faulty but after i switched mines on and off a few times all of a sudden all was good.

that sounds like a power supply issue

you need to flash a new image onto your dreambox via a null modem cable and DreamUp

Went to the dealer, bought a new charger, problem is now solved,
it seems to be a known problem with dreambox chargers going weak
