Hello,
I wish to solicit the help of any member of this forum with good skill and past experience on the TOYOTA RAV4 engine TCCS for the following drive ability experienced with a 2000 TOYOTA RAV4:Manual Transmission, Powered by Petrol Engine 1AZ - FE:

In fact following replacement of the cylinder head gasket due to Overheat, upon acceleration, the car cannot not more reach the speed of 20km/h.
The engine idle pretty well when started, but when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed, the engine revolution counter(Tachometer) needle can't reach 2000 rev/mn.

A scan tool connected to the car has reveal a faulty fuel rail sensor another sensor has been fitted but same problem.
In every other component it seems to be no problem.

This explain any help to have this car back to the road will be highly welcome

Regards

Hello Ngakson.

Didi you manage to fix the problem? It is pretty similar to a problem found on Corollas. You may floor the accelerator and it goes no further than 2000 RPMs. In Corollas, the problem is the ecm and must be replaced. This applies only if the RAV4 you are talking about has an electronic or servo driven throttle.

Check timing. then ECU would be how i would go about it. Just pray you haven't bent a valve if its out, would't think you have if its running ok on idle
