Hi!
I have to read out and program this eeprom BR93L46 but I don't know how.
I use the good old Macrob eeprom programmer for eeprom programming but I can not read or write this type of eeprom.
Can somebody say me why or what type of programmer and software should I use for tis ic?
The programmer is ok, I try lot of other eeproms to program and I have 2 of this BR93L46 device but I can't do anything with this device.
It's looks identical to the classic 93LC46 eeprom but the programmer did not recognise the chip. :-(
Thank's a lot for your time.
My best regard.

No idea, but if you can put back in circuit and measure power/ground on 5 and 8, see if it's a rotated one.
for reference do a search by threads started by member Cristec '93C46 rotated or not'
Meaty.

I checked if the pins are rotated, but it is not rotated, I have between pin 8 and 5 +3.3v.If I measure beween pin 2 and 7 there is no voltage. And now, I have a problem with the old, original eeprom. If i put it back in the original circuit after the read out try, the board didn't recognize the eeprom. :-(
I have another original eeprom which one was not in my eeprom programmer and I didn't try to read out it and if I put that eeprom to this board where are the first eeprom was fitted than the board recognize the second eeprom.
So, I think the firs eeprom is goon to die. :-)
Any idea?
I have only this one eeprom with the sw in. I mus read out the content so I can write it to another new eeprom.
Pls. any advice would be great.
Thanks.

Ok.
Here some news:
I try to write to the "dead" eeprom which one is the problem for me. And, the writing is finished ok. I try to read out and he reading was ok. Now, Why was the data gone first time when I tried to read out the eeprom content?
Any idea?

1) no idea
2) still no idea
3) can you make up an extenshion lead and probe in circuit, see if you can work out
pin outs.
4) What is it by the way - the device?

i have the same problem with a memory of this kind the problem is that you may need more power supply than the normal ,check manual of eeprom
