I have read that you could render the ecu useless when reflashing it with ids, but I dont know if that applies to clone ids or both clone and original ?
Do I dare to update the calibrations in Fords with my original and updated ids vcm, or do I risk having to buy new boxes for the customers, making it really bad buisness ?
To insure enough power, should I keep the battery charger connected while reflashing ? Or maybe just on supply mode ?
Are there any differences what ecu, tcm pcm a.s.o. ?

I haven't seen any damages by updating ECU's with IDS, but I saw how engine control unit died in the middle of reprogramming once on some year about 2003 Transit. That was second hand unit. So that might be a problem.

never had a failure with ids or gm tis but did loose a toyota pcm with a mongoose and techstream. Dealer covered it as it was a low milage piece. I always use a booster pack.
