On a side note, these little babies don't do the older 4C chips. For if they did, it would cover almost everything from Toyota. Making it the biggest bang for the buck. Again, just a side note.

NEVER plug one of those into a 4C vehicle OBD socket. If you own one make damned sure that you are working on a 4D.

Stick with the AD stuff on the Lexus Prox, Cathy317....there are reports from many folks of authority that the Orange Dongle will turn ABS lights on the cluster that you cannot turn off without the dealer tool, or worse, render the car immobile.

Where are these reports?

I know at least 10 folks personally that have had to send a car to the dealer to have the ABS light turned off to the tune of around 800USD.

I've also talked to another locksmith that fried an ecu with one....and it was a prox car.

It works on some but not all vehicles, the Prius comes to mind when I say not all.

It may well program the transponder on some as well, but not the prox functions.

thats the situation as you stated well, of course its not for all cars of brand toyota.
its the users responsability to know in wich cars can use the device and in wich not.

I think all the people want to have original equipment but some times they dont have enough money, or they dont play in the major leagues.
and by the way I heard to of people who damages things but with original equipment!!!!!! or can?t do things even with original equipment.

Regards

Points taken regarding original equipment doing weird stuff sometimes too....

BUT, the Orange programmer is claimed to support all 4d and Prox applications, this being said, it would not be "user error" technically if someone kicked the ABS light on in a Prius.

These tools are definitely a "use at your own risk" thing.

I have the older blue version for 4d, non-prox, and use it all the time, and love it. It's the Orange one that freaks me out.
But don't think that i wasn't a little freaked out the first time I plugged that one in either.
