I'm puzzled about the "needs" for installation instructions. Perhaps it is the new "video generation" but what is wrong with detailed step-by-step instructions in written format? If members cannot start Star Utilities unless a video shows how the mouse should be placed on the corresponding icon, I'm not sure they should use their setup with real cars.

I have nothing against those members who have produced installation guide videos, I'm just puzzled what exactly is it that members cannot figure out without a video. After all there are so many pressing the thanks button for the videos, members must find some additional value from those videos. Anyone have any examples?

That said I am not a software programmer or electrical engineer but I have in the past managed to install custom roms on my HTC winmob device or other progs that required "workarounds" and also successfully installed WIS and EPC on my computer.

Anyway, some of us are encountering problems which are not mentioned in any of the installation guides available. Here are some examples of installation problems that I have/had: incorrect system date even though set to 1 month after release date, .net 1.1 sp1 installation not completing, DAS installation error message re WinXP SP3 even though SP3 was already installed on notebook to begin with, etc.

Maybe the mod could make a sticky and wwe collect all installation instructions and advice there?

I was just "complaining" about the request for installation videos, not for installation instructions being requested. From above I understand written instructions would be fine for you, as long as those cover the issues you have faced. It is probably impossible to collect all instructions to a single document, the most common installation guides assume certain basics that may not always be self-evident.

The most difficult issue is the one that others have not faced, then it is less likely that others help from their experience.

I would start from a clean XP where definitely no signs of a previous installation exists. If you then set the date correctly, you should not see those errors (my understanding and my experience).

I cannot remember which .net version I have and what DAS wants but I would try to install SP3 and such first, which you seem to have done for SP3. I've never had SP3 related errors if SP3 was already installed.

Are you sure your installation DVD/image is good?

I wish you luck and hopefully experts can help you with issues that have not yet been posted and solved here.

I started with a fresh WinXP setup each and every time.

How can I check if my DVD is good or not???

If you are seriously asking help, please remain polite, you would get the key from me like I did provide you one previously (did you go back and see where you got your previous key).

There are many to help you, no problem getting the key. What I was after with selling stuff was that I feel you should support the forum in case you make money by selling solutions obtained from the forum. For me personally it is no problem but the forum does need funding to keep it alive.
