You can download youtube videos with YouTube Downloader (http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/) in FLV format. Also there is a Add-on for FireFox Easy YouTube Video Downloader (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10137/)which can download videos in FLV, 3GP, MP3, MP4, 720p HD and 1080p Full-HD formats. You can download video from you tube without any additional software needed

just enable java and add "kiss" to the link, download button will appear

for example:
