HI guys, new to the forum so I hope this is posted in the right place.

Had a problem with my Saab's electric window and fixed it, thoght I'd share my experience.

Saab 9-3 Convertible 04, driver side window not going down.
1st off, the door trim needs to be removed, I used this link, was an easy to follow but fiddly job, h**p://www.genuinesaab.com/psi/index.htm

Next the Saab replacement module was quoted to me by Saab dealers at ?68+vat but it will not work unless the service centre puts it on the computer (TECH II I guess) and activates it, another ?78+VAT !!!

I removed my module, it unclips from behind the trim and examined it. its a PCB with gold coloured round contacts that get energised by a plastic mat that sits upon it that the actual rocker switch depresses when you move the switch.

Anyway, on examining mine I could see corrosion on the gold drivers window UP contact. I cleaned it up, refitted the wires and tried it by pressing on the mat, no luck there.

So I purchased some conductive paint. This is a silver resin type paint for repairing the tracts on a PCB. Carefully I repainted over the corroded area, using the other OK gold contacts as my guide and template. The paint is highly conductive and sets hard, use a fine brush tho and take your time.
Anyway upshot is, my window works, I'm truly chuffed, hope this helps and works for you

Got the conductive Paint from Maplins ?7.99 :-)
