Hi, i think it is crankshaft sensor, when a car will stop, fields on a sensor cold water, if machine will be started, remove sensor. And see data engine speed Sorry for my english ))

You mean, when it stops chuck a bucket of cold water on the crank sensor.

Other pssability is if the cambelt - or chain - is WAY too loose and when hot it's *JUST* enough to stop the lumpystick and cranckshaft being syncronised.

I would recommend you speak to your local dealer and see if there are any tsb's on the camshaft sensor. Many vehicles (ford, vauxhall) had camshaft sensor problems however the faults were actually identified as the harness connector (using silver on gold) which needed to be replaced (you normally get the connector with about 6 inches of wire to be soldered in)

Dont forget to check the pressure sensor on the common rail, put a bucket of water on it and check if the vehicle starts. If yes pressure sensor is defective.
Hope it will help you

hi all , i solved my probleme.
in autodata there is note about this probleme , the probleme is crankshaft position sensor, whene engine hot send wrong singal, i change it thats all.
with CARMAN SCAN , they give dtc P0340Camshaft position sensor , but in real the probleme is crankshaft position sensor.

thanks for ,,,,,,,, hope this help in future

How did define ? Did change or poured water a sensor ?

hi tanitov,
in first time i thinked that Camshaft position sensor is defective, i change it but probleme persiste , and i see the pressur in rail whene i start engine ( hot ) only 70 BAR, so i thinked that regulator valve is the probleme i change it too. but the probleme persiste.

you don't find any dtc in ECU whene you scan it because the sensor always sent signal (engine hot & cold), but whene they sent wrong signal to ECU , this one commande actuator (regulator valve in rail) with wrong signal too (low signal) so pressur don't up and engine can't start .
to define this probleme i prefer to let engine for few min befor you start again , is not easy to make it out, its under HP PUMP.

hope this help ......thxxxxxxxxxx

Hi albanais,

Please i really would love to know more about your bucket of water theory???
Easy. If car starts without problem while cold and after it warms up you have problem to start it then you are sure that warm temperature has modified the data on the engine ecu, I mean the feedback. So if you put some water on the sensor you drop down the temperature of the sensor, so you modify again the data. So if the vehicle starts you know that your sensor in question is defective. It is common for all vehicles in big terms I mean. Hope you get some information
