Im having trouble reinstalling 6.4, I had just recently installed it in windows 7 with one try , I got ticked at window 7 becuase it kept killing my router even with homegroup disabled. So off to xp I go. Ive been all night at it so far It wont let me open as administrator. It reada (Windows cannot acess the specified device or path. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access items. Wtf. If i open it up direct while logged as admin it opens Nxulnk32 initialation failure error 275. and doesnt ask for a key . I double checked my install intructions and have cleaned the registries triple times . the only think i have that is not up to date is windows is sp2 still. Any ideas

Nxulink error means it is trying to connect to ecm. Your license should be good.

your ok with sp2 like trukcs said that msge comes up when u open the sw and theres no comunications with a vehicle, if u had dddl istalled and licensed before, its licensing your new install

I am not sure but i think you may be able to change the language once you install it most of the programs come with several languages installed you just have to find the option and pick the one you are looking for

I haven't used the cat comm adapter 3, but if it is rp1210a or b compliant it should work with DDDL and any other rp1210 capable software. (It's the same with cummins inline 5). :five:

I have this problem with DDDL 6.45 when I try to reset engine/trip data I get this messages:

When you installed... it asks a question about resetting the trip. It says that if you are a service center it would be a bad idea to reset the customers trip data. I can't remember the exact text of the question... but maybe you can look in the options for a setting like that.

But... there is a newer DDEC Reports... 7.01 put up by 12345678910. I just got it last night. The rar archive has a password... so you must Thank 12345678910... and then PM him for it.

Ok... this morning I hooked up to a 2010 Freightliner Cascadia.
It was a password protected truck. No problem since I know the password... but I got the strangest behavior from dddl.

It never asked me for a password.
Instead... it put up an error box with:
"An error occurred while gathering password information: Negative response"

It could not do the truck.
So I dragged out the old dddl 7.03 and it could do the truck.

You can see what level the key is under Help-> License
As soon as I get hooked to a series 60... I'll try and confirm your problem.

But as a workaround... you can try to install this into a VirtualBox VM... with a brand spanking new windows xp. That would eliminate "uninstall leftovers" that might be causing your problem. If you do that... be sure to get the "Non Free" version of virtualbox... as it has support for usb. The "Free Version" does not.

Can anyone confirm the password problem in dddl 7.06? I am testing it with cyph8r1975's read write fix. Maybe I installed it incorrectly... but it seems to be working. I got that same error on 3 different trucks.

On other fronts... I was hooked to a ddec V... and ran ddec reports 7.01. It cleared out the trip stats as soon as I hooked to the truck. I am glad that that was what I wanted done... because if it was a company truck... it would not have been a good thing. lol. There were some check boxes in the redesigned communication manager... which were greyed out on that truck.

A word of advice... remake sure it is okay to clear the trip stats before you connect with ddec reports 7.01... until I find a way to uncheck the boxes. Maybe installing with the NoReset option... means just that. No resetting.

EDIT:
Ok... I found out that there is a default set of options to handle "unknown trucks". If you find the DEFAULT option in the vehicle registry of Communication Manager... at the top right corner is a button, EDIT. Once you click that you can change the defaults for unknown trucks... for all the flavors... of ddec including ddec 10. I unchecked the reset trip option for all of them.

Am i the only one with write access problems? The dddl for 2008 trucks (and up) 7.06SP1 - Well... It works great when I read a truck... but when I hit send... I just get a dialog with "Negative response". Maybe it's the key I have been using?

hello to everybody i am need of help i was trying to install the detroit software to my laptop do diagnose a series 60 4 but i had another version installed on my laptop so it would not take i tried removing the old one to install the knew one but it only made it worse now my computer tells me that another version exist of detroit on computer and when i tell it to deleted in doesn do it an in the main add remove programs a detroit diesel diagnostic link appears but i cant delete it either and it only tells me tha {could not open install.logfile.} i have tried everything but nothing works and i have 2 units that need to be reprogram before i can use them because the speed limit is to any help would be realy apreciated

Even though you uninstalled the program I think you will find the related Detroit folders are still in drive C: and in C: program files. Copy those folders (just in case) then delete them.

A second thing you can do is use the DOS command "regedit" go to hkey local, software and delete the related Detroit folder. Be sure to copy the folder first just in case you have to reinstall it. I'm no expert in this area but these things worked for me.

Then try a reinstall.

I got no responses, either yes or no. Well let me put it another way. I had a working dddl vers 6.x and 7.0x.
I installed these "updates" on a machine that is NOT connected to the internet. Now the machine is useless on 2008 and up detroit ecms.

Here is what happened to me. First the good.
DDEC Reports 7.01 works. (It is a lot slower than the 6.x version.)
DDDL version 6.46 works... until you try and extract a trip... and then DDDL complains of some missing files. Jackalfa documented his problem and the fix he employed in this thread.

DDDL 7.06... with the "read/write" fix... is broken. It can read a 2011 truck ecm... just fine. It cannot write to the ecm.
This is the error I got.
"An error occurred while gathering password information: Negative response"

If I am the only one with this error... then I guess I need some install instructions.

So how about it? Am I the only one with this error?
