Cannot Connect to Internet

Hi Guys

I purchased a Lenovo laptop a few months ago for my studying at University, whilst my Laptop works fine while plugged into my internet server at University I am having problems when I go home and try to run my laptop from the family wireless router system.
Whilst my laptop is saying that I?m connected to the internet I can?t get on the internet. On the odd occasion that I can, the laptop works fine. The signal status at the bottom right hand side of the laptop is showing a full strength signal.
But for the vast majority of the time the laptop is telling me that I?m connected but the signal strength indicator has a little yellow dot in the middle of it, when I see the yellow dot I know that although the laptop is saying I?m connected I?m not. I?m running windows 7
Could you please help me with this problem?

This is a conflict with the router. If there are other devices using the wireless router it may be assigned the same IP address. Reset the router and this will give your laptop another IP.
