I have been trying to connect to an ISC CM850 Cummins ECM but have no succes.
As I wan having some problem in the truck wiring, I removed from the truck the ECM and try to connect to it without using any OEM neither Cummins harness.
Using the engine wiring diagram I connect:
- 24V battery supply - and + to the OEM Power Connector (PIN n? 01 and 04)
- 24V + battery suply to PIN n? 39
- J1587 Datalink + from PIN n? 10 to 9-PIN Deutsch
- J1587 Datalink - from PIN n? 20 to 9-PIN Deutsch
- J1939 Datalink + from PIN n? 46 to 9-PIN Deutsch
- J1939 Datalink - from PIN n? 47 to 9-PIN Deutsch
- J1939 Datalink Shield from PIN n? 37 to 9-PIN Deutsch
- 24V battery supply - and + to 9-PIN Deutsch
Then connected the 9-PIN Deutsch to Inline 5 and try to connect using Insite. I was able to connect using the J1708 protocol but I didnt have succes using the J1939, all the times I tried it started to connect but before stablish the connection it gives me some connection error.
This is the first time I try to connect to this type of ECM out from the truck and all I can guess is that Im missing some PIN or connection that has to be pluged in order to get working the ECM taken out from all the truck harness.
I want to know if anyone know what could I be missing.
Thank you in advance for the help.
