I have Ford VCM on order, been reading threw threads to get a bit clued up before it arrives. Ive read you cant put ford IDS and Jaguar/landrover on same HDD is this true?? As i currently using honda HDS with j2534 passthru, is it possible to use same computer on same HDD for Ford IDS to run with Ford VCM.
As these 2 programs look pretty similiar.
Many thanks any help and tips is greatly appreciated.

Easiest way is to use both ( or as many as you want ) in vmware , just create a separate virtual machine for each program you need , you can have even two version of same program on same hdd in this way

If you use a Dual Boot you can have them on the same laptop. Back in the day I used a triple boot..FordIDS_JagIDS_HondaHDS and used the same Interface..all on one laptop. Something came up and crashed my VCM once on a update to Ford..got my VCM replaced and loaded Honda_toyota_vw all on one hardrive_laptop_single boot Now I use Ford_Jaguar Dual Boot on a T-40..with a factory VCM. I would go with a triple boot if you want them all 3 to work on same laptop..using the j2534 interface with Honda
Do you have the HDS working with Fly software?

Does ford ids and jag landrover ids work ok in vmware?? Even module programming????
And Sleuth, thanks for reply m8,I wanted Ford IDS on my itronix ix260+ (old tough touchscreen laptop), but installed HDS already so not starting again. i also have T30 with few hard drives, so i think i will put Ford ids on on HDD with either vas on or Clip.
For honda HDS im running Honda HDS software original i think 2.021.008.ENG.WIN32, with my abrites AVDI using passthru driver. Not tried on car yet but led on interfaces lights up when you go to diagnose a car, show pretty sure it will work on car. I also use j2534 for techstream, volvo vida, mercedes DAS and just downloaded landrover and jaguar IDS which is also meant to work now.

This is a good thread! That's exactly what I'm trying to work on right now, running IDS, HDS, Techstream, VIDA, all using AVDI interface.
SO far I'm stuck with VIDA monitor running, after instaling IDS ford, Techstream Toyta. There must be some kind off SQL conflict. How do you guys run separate vmware machines for these? Do you install XP on every one of them? Would AVDI work in VM?

Of course it work , is also better than is regular install because you can freeze time , and programming work forever not only 3 month from dvd release
If you need more tips for vmware just say and i can make for you a separate thread with vmware tips

Thanks m8, i like the sound of that.:D, could you tell me how you freeze time, as on every boot my vmware takes time and date from my main operating system.
Many thanks

Ps labusaus, you make one xp operating system and copy the folder, then install what you want on it. Then copy original again and put what you want on it.
Saves loads of time, installing operating systems.

Main Point is to keep jag_ford_honda separated....Nice Interface you have :-)
Dream of Arbrites stuff..
I have a Drewtech iso/can interface(not using now) and the actia-xs..the one that will not run the Multidiag..usa version.

M8, you might as well start being the Man of the Month of January if you can sort this VMWARE thing out for us all. I have been having running battle with using my DIS v57 with my AVDI, I have HDS hardware and software too , i have Ford IDS, just got it and its installed but never tried it out yet with Jag IDS. If i can get all of them to work with my AVDI, then bingo.

I use a dual boot for Ford IDS and JLR IDS cause they can't be on the same drive. I try not to use one computer for all since if it crashes i won't be able to to work on those cars and it would take forever to setup again. I seem to have no problems running techstream and consult 3 on the same computer (singleboot) but all others i use it's own computer. I would stay away from vmware cause to me it makes things run slow.
