hi all i have purchased a new laptop and have a few questions, can i use ids v70 with genuine ford vcm on windows 7 64 bit and also if i get an external hdd and load JLR ids onto would they conflict with each other and would my vcm be damaged by using it with the JLR ids? cheers in advance

I have been running into problems with my new 64 bit windows 7 laptop. My solution so far has been a free program from MS called "XP Mode".
Windows XP Mode - Windows 7 features - Microsoft Windows (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/windows-xp-mode)

I have had some problems with programs and KEYGENS not working, but other then that it was worked nicely. Its free try it out.

xp mode is for premium/ultimate but not basic. with ultimate i just chose to run in compatability for xp service pack 3 and all was well. regards steve

Best to use xp laptop, full stop.

For automotive applications xp is king everything works and no need to worry

agreed i have an xp machine just for ids and nothing else...i did run it on win 7 ultimate in xp sp3 compatability for a short while and seemed to work fine though...worth mentioning ids needs SERVICE PACK 3 and also set date back before installing ids or module programming wont work...then change date in windows before each time you run ids to keep programming function.

Or you can partition youre only hard drive in 2 parts, install two OSes, one for Ford and the other for Land Rover. :)
