recently i have ordered the innovates lm2 wideband along with the obd cable. is it possible to detect knock with the above hardware and logworks software?if not what software will fit me?

The OT2 obd unit?

Depends on the vehicle as to what channels it will read.
If it's fully functional then you will be able to log knock correction/trim.

do you might know any other way to listen to knock so it will be safe to tune the timing?

I dont think the Wilcox kit has datalogging facility, thought I guess this isnt strictly needed depending on what&how you are tuning.

Price also...the Gizzmo kit has two knock sensor inputs (individually tuneable), DAQ etc etc and is only c?450...pretty good tool imo.

That's exactly what you can do with the Wilcox kit.
