Will the ps3 survive?

I have been thinking with all that has happened in the ps3 scene lately with it being hacked big time and Sony apparently having no way of fixing it without a change to hardware (There is even a custom firmware for 3.55 ps3 now)
Will the ps3 survive? I know the 360 and the wii has been hacked a long time and are still out there but I think this is different because It doesn't invalidate your warranty it's very cheap, and it's so easy my Grandma could do it .
Production costs for games these days are crazy apparently it costs $2 million to $30 million to design and produce a Playstation 3 game with some of the AAA titles costing even more Metal Gear Solid 4 $60,000,000 ,GT5 $80,000,000 ,GTA IV cost $100,000,000 according to Top 10 most expensive video games budgets ever - DigitalBattle.com (http://www.digitalbattle.com/2010/02/20/top-10-most-expensive-video-games-budgets-ever/).
How are these guys going get their money back when/if dongles (soon to be dongleless) become as wide spread as the R4 or the hacked psp.

and the wii not really supported by 3rd party in any big way..Hmmm

CAnt see it lasting long to be honest. After all how long did the PS2 last after it was hacked.

Be a PS4 released before long when they see how the game sales go.

The PS3 has been a flop from the off, it has made a loss on every unit sold,
it has actually lost more money than the PS2 made,
it was over priced due to the blu-ray player, 1/3 of the cost of a PS3 is down to the blu-ray,
the price of the licence was kept artificially high, as not to effect the sales of stand alone blu-ray players,
it has had a lot of well known problems (ylod), and it's being outsold by the wii and xbox,
companies like polyphony have said they have gone as far as they can with the PS3, and you wont see the full beauty of GT5 until the PS4 is released,
the PS4 was not due to be released until 2016, giving the PS3 a 10 year life span, but with the xbox 720 due to be released within the next 18 months, rumours say sony will release it much sooner

I really have no preference, i have had both systems in the past, and currently have a ps3. only becasue of the price i got it for. If pushed, and if buying new, then i would go for xbox.
