Oh well, on my previous thread I was moaning about the cost of my tyre, popped on a kerb New Years day, ?50. The very next day broke my keycard thing for the Laguna, ?140 and I was wondering if these things came in threes. Yep yesterday my Turbo went, whining better than a spammer hit by GMB's banning stick.

Had a few quotes, from ?700 to a ?1000 barring a few pennies.
One of my favorite quotes, and easiest for me is 1/2 mile down the road, Tanvics, who although the quoted ?849, that was with a brand new Garrett turbo in.
When I asked if I supplied a turbo, would they do it, said yes, ?126 labour, which sounds bloody cheap.

What I would like to know is what other incidentals I would need?
5w40 Oil I believe, not sure which type, synthetic I would guess.
Gaskets.
Someone mentioned a new oil feed pipe to turbo?

Can someone tell me if I would be doing the right thing by trying to save a few quid getting providing a turbo myself? or should I let one company take care of the lot. Providing me with one company to take any potential problems to, if the worst happens.

I have taken my car down to Tanvics a number of times, and am quite happy with previous service from them.
