Organic Gardening

Australia is famous for permaculture and organic gardening. Is it as widespread as presented to us here?

I am in South Africa and custom design veggie gardens for clients.

my mate does this permaculture,hes just come back from palestine and has been helping palestinians to set up there own permaculture systems,,obviously being in palestine means a lot of restrictions and things which dont help them to survive or live a normal existence
its also widely used here in the uk,,very interesting stuff permaculture
