I emailed Autokg and they are asking 500 euro. I checked with Carsoft and they are asking 300 euro, open to engineering level. Since I'm not selling software, I'm only using it for my own vehicle I can't spend that much. 12345678910 thank you for taking time to work on this fix and I will get the manuals uploaded soon that I mentioned early. I'm waiting on some software that maybe, will help DK members.

No you can't install ddl7 and ddrs7 in the same computer but you can have ddrs 7 and ddl6 in the same computer. Ddrs 7 and ddl7 are identical programs but the ddrs gives you the option to reprogram ecm's.

What sort of software do i need to connect to a 16v4000 running DDEC IV? not too familiar with detriots but been using the old school DDEC reader just looking to get my laptop hooked up. any help be good thanx

You'll need some version of DDL, 6.44, 6.45 or 6.46. Any of these should work for diagnostic work on DDEC IV and all of these are here on DK. You'll also need a translator box for your laptop. I have a Nexiq USB Link. There is a couple of different brands available. DRS is for reprogramming and DCT for factory level tuning. There is a lot of information here on DK. Do a search and read the threads on these subjects.

hello,

I am having some trouble with my instalation
i had dct and dddl installed and working. i uninstalled dddl
i installed drs from the thread "drs 6 and ddec v files" thread, i got drs to open, then i extracted part 1 and 2 from this thread to my detroit diesel folder and installed, then i ran the sp1, now i can get all progams open but none will connect to the engine. i reinstalled my nexiq drivers here are the messages i get.

i have comms set for the usb link, and i did update my drivers, i'm wondering if that could be part of the problem. when i use the nexiq device tester to test my connection i get an unknown error with the same error code as dddl (261)

I got dddl dct and drs working on a new computer, but my dddl kept saying that it was a 30 day trial. and that i had to regester. but there was no place to enter a registration key. so i let the 30 days run out thinking that maybe when it ran out a window would come up where i could enter a code but here is what i get. i attached a screen shot, i hope you can read it.

All I need is 6.45 to work on Win7, Does it? or is 6.46 the answer to that. Also, I do not need anything higher than 6.45 because we no longer buy Detroit engines, can I upgrade just 6.45 to 6.46 for win 7 and will my existing key work from the 6.45 install? Thank

We too are using DDDL 6.46 on Win 7 and it works well. We also are using it on WIN XP Service pack 3.

Thx for helping but problem still. It means that I can open DDDL only one time. When I close the programm and I want to open again I have to put different key code because previous one doesn't work.
Does anybody have any idea why ?I have reinstalled DDDL allready twice , and problem still.

I have had to edit the registry in the past to fix problems like this. Run regedit, pick Hkey local, then pick software and delete the related detroit folder. I have had good luck doing this but you can also screw up a lot. I attached a couple of pictures, I hope it helps.

I forgot to say do this after an uninstall and it should allow you a fresh reinstall.

Thx Emgo for advice but I have done it before I asked DK friends for help. Removing DDDL from registry didn't help in my case.
