hi im trying to transfer stuff to my ps3 via homebrew ftp,, just music and pics mostly
im using filezilla on my laptop and blackbox v1.2 on ps3 , i can copy files to and from both computers however if i copy something to ps3 it does not show up, ive tried rebooting aswell but nothing there

thanks in advance Ftp is for transferring games to the ps3, use ps3 media server or windows media player, from xmb go to relevant section, then go to media server, browse to the media, press triangle, then copy

You can FTP anything you like to the PS3, not just games.
When you say nothing shows up, do you mean that nothing shows up in the PS3 browser or nothing shows up while browsing the PS3 from the PC? Are you copying the files to the correct place?
Filezilla is shit BTW. lol

yep mate their not showing up in the xmb, ive tried also using winscp to transfer stuff but havin no joy at connecting to ps3 with that, with filezilla the files copy over correctly but just dont show up and yes they are in the right place

heres what to do,
connect ethernet cable to PS3 and PC, go into:
PS3: Network settings>internet connection settings>
custom>wired connection>manual settings>manual IP settings: input these:
IP address: 192.168.0.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default router: 192.168.0.1
Primary DNS: 10.1.1.1
leave rest and mover on>>
MTU automatic>proxy Do not use>UPnP Disable>Enter
now go to PC:
control panel>network settings, find LAN(local area connection)>right click on it>Properties>click on internet protocol(usually at the bottom)>
Properties>Tick use the following IP address> input these settings:
IP address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.0.2
Tick Use the following DNS server address> input this:
Preferred DNS server: 10.1.1.1
leave rest click ok, your all set.
Use Flashfxp, click connect>input this address> 192.168.0.2>ok
on PS3 you can use GAIA menager FTP on
you must find right place where to put files like games in hdd 0 section GAMEZ
