I have problem with passat dash 3B0 920 825 A. I tried to change mileage with vagcan+k v2.5.

I readed the dump from dash, changed the mileage and wrote dump to dash. Nothing changed on the dash, same mileage than before. Then, i readed the dash again and viola, there is only some crap inside (see attachment) and vagcan+k shows that there is over 1000000km on the odometer...:D. So, my dump is clearly corrupted now.

Weird thing is that car and dash is working 100%, no problems at all. I haven't disconnected the battery and won't do that 'cause it could make things just worse.

I'm asking yours help now, what i should do that i can get the dump correct again. There is dash and ecu dumps +fault codes as attachment.

Thanks for help in advance,

With value you mean km value shown in vag-k can commander? If yes there was something like 106xxxx km. The ecu dump shows the real km. (35xxxx km)

Following fault code came after playing so there must be something wrong with dash although it works.

Control Module Part Number: 3B0 920 825 A
Component and/or Version: KOMBI+WEGFAHRSP VDO V10
Software Coding: 04125
Work Shop Code: WSC 12000
Additional Info: WVWZZZ3BZ1P0xxxxx VWZ7Z0Y2941xxx
2 Faults Found:
01314 - Engine Control Module
49-10 - No Communications - Intermittent

This was before, don't mind -> 00462 - Control Module for Seat Memory; Rear (J522)
49-00 - No Communications

I use vag-k can commander with simple k-line interface. i don't have that vag dash can so i can't use it.

I've tried read dash multiple times and allways i get that corrupted dump. Should i take cluster apart and desolder chip and read with some tool directly from eeprom?

Any ideas?

I've been thinking that but if i get after 10 min 1 million km on the dash :dancing2:

Will test it tomorrow. Until then, good night! :)

Yep disconnecting the battery solved the problem. Thanks for help!

Is it better to edit dump manually (with hex editor) and then write it back to dash with vag-k can commander via obd? What is your opinion for this dash?

The kilometres are stored in lines 00F0 and 0100?

Correct dump attached.

vag-k can commander shows 357051 km but in dash there is 357056. I want about 300000.

Is km stored somewhere else also or only in dash. Is it stored in ecu?

thanks.

what is engine of your passat? I think if it's diesel engine it can be stored in engine ecu too

it's 1,9 diesel 96kw. I think that km are stored in ecu 'cause when i read ecu with vag-k can commander it shows odometer value...

I'd like to know that in which line that km data is stored.

Dash is 93C6 and edc15 24C04
vag comm can change both.

no, vag com can not.

That's true.

I did ecu with vag-k can commander. Read ecu, put new km in "odometer" field and click "change" button. Then Write to ecu. Done.

Now when i read the ecu it shows "new" km value.
So it seems to be ok.

ps. This is not my business. Just want to learn things. This passat is my own car :D
