I was after some oil for my Laguna 1.9 Dci 120hp 03 plate.
The recommended is 5W40 full Synthetic. I found the cheapest place for Castrol Edge was ?30 for 4 litres, and ?10 for 1 litre at Asda (I need 4.5 litres).
While I was there, I found, and bought Asda 5W40 fully synthetic motor oil, 5litres for ?18.

The specs say API SL/CF ACEA A3/B3
Suitable for the latest high performance petrol & diesel engines including turbo charged.

Is this oil any good? or should I pay more for a name?

its probably made by the same place just a different label on it. ive never had any probs with non-name brand oils

I need a fairly good oil, not so much for the performance, but coz my oil changes are 18,000 miles.
I half agree shady, probably the same, but I don't understand them funny spec letters.

Cracking find shady, it looks ok my oil then. Would be interested in motor trade lads confirming it, but B3 High performance and/or extended drain sounds right

Just change it twice as often and pay half as much. That's the way I do it. I don't reckon that oil is good for those sort of miles anyway, it's not the quality of the oil that is the problem with high miles it's the impurities from the engine and combustion and no matter how good your oil they are still there.
